Sabre is a Global Distribution System (GDS), also known as a Computer Reservations System (CRS). A GDS is a computerized system that is used to store and retrieve information and conduct transactions related to travel arrangements. Modern GDS's typically allow users to book hotel rooms and rental cars as well as airline tickets. They are used by airlines, travel agents and other travel professionals.

Developed by American Airlines in the 1960s, Sabre has around 30% of the global GDS market and has a very strong presence in the USA, in particular. Airlines that use Sabre include: American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, All Nippon, Singapore Airlines and China Airlines. Other companies that use Sabre include American Express, Travelocity, Expedia, Kayak, Hillgate, Reed & Mackay, and Omega World Travel.

The Sabre GDS enables companies to search, price, book, and ticket travel services provided by airlines, hotels, car rental companies, rail providers and tour operators. Learning a GDS has many benefits, it could mean the difference to you securing your ideal travel job. Other examples of GDS are Galileo, Amadeus, Worldspan & Apollo.

This is NOT an entry-level program. Students must be at a minimum writing speed of 60 words per minute to start our program.
